Trash Collection
- Service Provider: Kimble Companies handles residential trash collection in South Euclid.
- Schedule: Trash is collected weekly. Place waste containers at the curb no earlier than 6:00 PM the evening before your scheduled collection day. Containers must be removed within 12 hours after collection.
- Container Guidelines:
- Ensure containers are durable and have tight-fitting lids.
- Do not overfill containers; lids should close completely.
- Bulk Waste: Items like furniture and appliances are collected weekly under specific conditions:
- Carpet & Padding: Cut, bundled, and tied in 4-foot sections weighing no more than 30 pounds.
- Mattresses & Box Springs: Must be wrapped individually in thick plastic and secured with tape.
- Appliances: Refrigerators and freezers must have doors removed and be laid flat.
Recycling Collection
- Service Provider: Kimble Companies also manages recycling collection.
- Schedule: Recycling is collected weekly on the same day as trash. Place recycling containers at the curb no earlier than 6:00 PM the evening before your scheduled collection day. Containers must be removed within 12 hours after collection.
- Accepted Materials:
- Paper & Boxes: Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, and paperboard.
- Plastic Bottles & Jugs: Empty, clean, and dry; replace caps.
- Glass Bottles & Jars: Empty, clean, and dry; place lids loose in recycling.
- Metal Cans: Aluminum and steel cans; empty, clean, and dry.
- Preparation Guidelines:
- Do not bag recyclables; place them loose in the container.
- Flatten cardboard boxes to save space.
Yard Waste Collection
- Leaf Collection: The city provides leaf collection services during the fall. Rake leaves to the curb for pickup. Check the city’s website for specific dates and guidelines.
- Grass Clippings & Small Branches: Place in biodegradable bags or bundle small branches for curbside collection.
Special Waste Disposal
- Household Hazardous Waste: Drop off items like paints, chemicals, and batteries at the Service Center during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM). Note: Latex paint is not considered hazardous and should be dried out and disposed of with regular trash.
- Computer Recycling: Discarded computers and equipment can be dropped off at the Service Center during designated periods:
- April 1 – April 26, 2024
- September 30 – October 25, 2024 Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
- Tire Disposal: Used tires can be dropped off at the Service Center from September 3 – September 24, 2024, between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Holiday Collection Schedule
In 2024, trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
If your collection day falls on or after these holidays, service will be delayed by one day that week.
