Regular Trash Disposal:

  • Acceptable Items:
    • General household waste such as food scraps, non-recyclable packaging, and broken household items.
    • Excess bagged refuse and yard waste should be placed in 30-gallon bags, each weighing no more than 50 pounds.
  • Prohibited Items:
    • Hazardous materials like paint, chemicals, and automotive parts.
    • Large amounts of building materials or refuse from repairs, alterations, or new construction.
    • Items not placed in proper containers, bags, or bundles.

Recycling Guidelines:

  • Accepted Materials:
    • Newspapers, magazines, mail, and printer/copier paper.
    • Cardboard and chipboard (e.g., cereal boxes).
    • Plastic bottles, jugs, and tubs.
    • Glass bottles and jars.
    • Aluminum cans, trays, and other bi-metal products.
  • Preparation:
    • Ensure recyclables are clean and dry.
    • Do not bag recyclables; place them loose in the recycling cart.
    • Flatten cardboard boxes to save space.

Yard Waste Disposal:

  • Accepted Items:
    • Leaves, grass clippings, and small branches.
    • Place yard waste in brown paper yard waste bags or designated yard waste cans.
    • Leaves must be contained in paper yard waste bags or yard waste cans; loose leaves will not be collected.
  • Preparation:
    • Do not place yard waste in plastic bags; they will not be collected.
    • Yard waste is not to be placed at the curb before 5:00 p.m. the day before your scheduled collection day.
    • All trash, recycling, and yard waste must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your day of collection and all receptacles removed from the tree lawn the same day.

Bulk Item Disposal:

  • Accepted Items:
    • Stoves, appliances, water heaters (with water removed), washers, dryers, furniture, chairs, and carpet (cut into 4-foot lengths).
    • All mattresses, box springs, and upholstered furniture must be wrapped and sealed in plastic.
  • Preparation:
    • Set out bulk items weekly on your regularly scheduled collection day.
    • Keep bulk items three feet away from your carts.

Special Waste Disposal:

  • Construction & Demolition Debris (C&D):
    • If the resident performs remodeling and repair work, small amounts of C&D will be collected weekly.
    • Individual items shall not weigh more than 50 lbs.
    • Contractors performing remodeling and repair work are responsible for removing debris and the C&D materials.
  • Excluded Items:
    • Broken concrete, dirt, automotive parts, large amounts of building materials or refuse caused by repairs, alterations, or new construction of buildings or sidewalks.
    • Refuse not placed in proper containers, bags, or bundles.

Holiday Collection Schedule:
