If your question isn't answered below, give us a call and we will be happy to explain the services in more detail.
What is lawn edging and why is it important?

Lawn edging is the process of creating a clear, defined boundary between different areas of your landscape, such as the lawn and paved surfaces, garden beds, or driveways. It involves cutting through grass and overgrown dirt to form sharp, clean edges.

Importance of Lawn Edging:

  • Enhances Curb Appeal: Well-defined edges give your property a neat, manicured look, making your home stand out.
  • Prevents Encroachment: Edging keeps grass from creeping into garden beds and walkways, helping maintain the integrity of your landscape design.
  • Improves Lawn Health: By preventing grass from spreading uncontrollably, edging ensures that each area of your lawn receives the nutrients and space it needs to thrive.
  • Simplifies Maintenance: Clearly defined borders make mowing and other lawn care tasks easier and more efficient.
  • Increases Property Value: A well-maintained lawn with clean edges can boost the overall value and appeal of your property.
How often should I have my lawn edged?

We recommend a minimum of once a month to maintain clean and defined edges. For those who prefer a consistently neat appearance, edging every other week is ideal to prevent any overgrowth. If you want your edges to always look perfect and pristine, opting for weekly edging services will ensure your lawn remains in top condition. Regular edging not only enhances the look of your property but also helps maintain the health and structure of your landscape.

What are the benefits of professional edging services?
  1. Enhanced Curb Appeal: Professional edging creates sharp, clean lines that make your lawn and garden beds stand out, significantly boosting the overall appearance of your property.
  2. Precise and Clean Edges: With specialized equipment and expertise, professionals can achieve straight, well-defined edges that are difficult to replicate with DIY methods.
  3. Saves Time and Effort: Hiring professionals saves you the time and effort required to edge your lawn, allowing you to enjoy your weekends without the hassle of yard work.
  4. Prevents Encroachment: Proper edging prevents grass from spreading into garden beds, walkways, and driveways, keeping each area distinct and well-maintained.
  5. Healthier Lawn: Regular edging helps ensure that each section of your lawn receives adequate nutrients and space to grow, promoting overall lawn health.
  6. Consistency and Reliability: Professionals provide consistent results with each visit, ensuring your lawn always looks its best.
  7. Increased Property Value: A well-maintained lawn with defined edges can increase the curb appeal and value of your home, making it more attractive to potential buyers.
  8. Customized Service: Professional edging services can be tailored to your specific needs and preferences, ensuring your landscape looks exactly how you want it.
  9. Expert Advice: Professionals can provide valuable tips and recommendations for maintaining your lawn and landscape, helping you achieve the best results year-round.
  10. Comprehensive Care: In addition to edging, professionals can offer other lawn care services, ensuring your entire landscape is healthy and well-maintained.
Can I edge my lawn myself, or should I hire a professional?

While it’s possible to edge your lawn yourself, hiring a professional offers significant benefits:

  1. Expertise and Precision: Professionals have the experience and skill to achieve the straight, clean edges that truly enhance your lawn’s appearance.
  2. Specialized Equipment: Investing in the necessary equipment can be costly. A stick edger can cost around $250, and a line trimmer is about $250 as well. Additionally, there’s a learning curve to using these tools effectively without damaging your lawn.
  3. Consistent Results: Regular visits from a professional ensure that your lawn always looks its best, with neat and well-defined edges.
  4. Time-Saving: Edging can be a time-consuming and physically demanding task. Hiring a professional frees up your time, allowing you to relax and enjoy your yard without the hard work.
  5. Comprehensive Care: Beyond just edging, professionals can offer additional lawn care services and expert advice, ensuring your entire landscape is healthy and well-maintained.
  6. Long-Term Benefits: Professional edging helps prevent overgrowth, maintains the integrity of your lawn and garden beds, and contributes to the long-term beauty and health of your landscape.
  7. Aesthetic Appeal: A professionally edged lawn not only looks better but can also boost your property’s curb appeal and value.

While DIY edging is possible, hiring a professional ensures the best possible results, saving you time and effort while maintaining your lawn at its peak condition.

How long does the edging process take?

The duration of the edging process can vary depending on the size and complexity of your lawn. On average, it takes about 30 minutes to an hour to edge a typical residential lawn. For larger properties or those with intricate landscaping, the process may take longer. Our professional team works efficiently to ensure that your lawn is edged to perfection without sacrificing quality.

Once you sign up with us, you don’t have to worry about being present during the service. As long as we have access to your yard, we can perform the edging regardless of how long it takes. We have a set price for our edging services for properties up to 1/2 acre, making it simple and straightforward for you.

What equipment do you use for edging?

We use Echo commercial stick edgers and line trimmers to achieve precise and clean cuts along the edges of your lawn. To ensure your property looks its best after our work, we also use commercial backpack blowers to blow off all areas we worked on, leaving your lawn neat and tidy.

Will edging damage my lawn or garden beds?

No, professional edging will not damage your lawn or garden beds when done correctly. Our experienced team uses precise techniques and specialized equipment, such as Echo commercial stick edgers and line trimmers, to ensure clean and accurate cuts. Rest assured, our goal is to enhance the beauty and health of your landscape, not harm it.

How do you ensure the edges are straight and clean?

We ensure straight and clean edges through a combination of expertise, precision, and the right equipment. Here’s how we do it:

  1. Professional Equipment: We use Echo commercial stick edgers and line trimmers, which are designed to deliver precise and consistent cuts.
  2. Experienced Technicians: Our team has extensive experience in lawn care and edging, allowing them to execute each job with accuracy and attention to detail.

How do I prepare my lawn for edging services?

Preparation for our edging services is easy and straightforward. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Clear the Driveway: Ensure there are no cars parked too close to the driveway edges. Ideally, having no cars in the driveway is preferred, but not mandatory.
  2. Unlock Gates: If we need access to your backyard, please make sure any gates are unlocked and accessible.
  3. Secure Pets: Make sure any pets are inside to ensure their safety and allow our team to work efficiently.

By taking these simple steps, you help us provide the best possible service, ensuring your lawn and edges look their best.

Are there any restrictions to this service?

Yes, there are a few restrictions to our edging plans to ensure the best service and results:

  1. Property Size: Our standard pricing covers properties up to 1/2 acre. Larger properties may require a custom quote.
  2. Access: We need clear access to all areas that require edging. Please ensure gates are unlocked and pets are secured indoors. If we arrive on the scheduled date and the gates are locked, you will be charged for the full service.
  3. Obstructions: While we can edge around most features, excessive obstructions or debris may hinder our ability to provide clean, precise edges.
  4. Driveway Parking: For optimal service, it’s best if there are no cars parked in the driveway, particularly close to the edges.
  5. Weather Conditions: Severe weather conditions, such as heavy rain or extreme heat, may affect our ability to perform edging services as scheduled. We will notify you if we need to reschedule.
  6. Existing Edges Only: Our plans cover maintaining existing edges for lawns, driveways, and walkways. Cutting new edges for flower beds is not included. If you require a new bed edge to be cut, we would need to quote that separately. These jobs typically cost between $2-$3 per linear foot.
  7. Commitment and Payments: The prices on the website reflect a 3-month commitment, with the exception of the one-time service. Once you sign up, we will set up autopayments for the 3-month period with the option to renew at any time. You can cancel the service at any time, but you will still be responsible for paying the remaining months.

By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure that your lawn receives the highest quality edging service possible.

Will you mow the lawn during this service?

No, we will not mow the lawn during this service. If you require lawn mowing as well as edging, our Lawn Mowing Services will be a better fit for you.
